A Japanese-Latin love affair

THE SAYAN HOUSE is perched over the Ayung River valley, with an overlooking view to the breath taking ridge and dramatic rises of Ubud to keep guests occupied as they enjoy a spread of Japanese Latin delicacies. The restaurant’s décor takes its cues from traditional Indonesian interiors, with charming rattan chairs, rustic timber columns and polished wooden furnishings. Elegant chandeliers and rustic earthen tiles round off the Indonesian inspired décor. The food program at The Sayan House is headed by Japanese Executive Chef Yuki Tagami, who draws on his breadth of experience working in some of the most acclaimed kitchens in Japan, Europe and the USA. The los de sashimi tacos is a great dish to share, with citrus marinated seafood accompanied by rice, avocado, seaweed wrapped in homemade tacos served with wasabi aioli. Wrap things up with Yuki ribs, a satisfying main of pork spareribs with chipotle sauce and yukari-cilantro rice.
