AS THE NAME suggests, Fairmont Hotel Jakarta’s VIEW Restaurant & Bar prides on having the best view of the Jakarta skyline from its 22nd floor. Its dramatic high ceiling is matched with floor-toceiling windows. Golden hues dominate its interior, spiced with grey leather sofas and white tables.
Helmed by Chef Hans Christian, VIEW presents a mix of modern European cuisine with Asian influences, using the best locally sourced produce. The chef will recommend its patrons to enjoy one of his four/six/eight tasting courses for the full experience of his signature dishes. VIEW’s a-la carte selection include slow cooked beef cheek with yuzu kosho chimichurri, with bbq broccoli, onion and celery.Its Burnt Caesar dish consists of romaine,kale, smoked tomato, nori and peach.
VIEW’s favorite dessert is the Flavor of Kolak, made of banana brulee, sweet potato, palm sugar and coconut lime sorbet. Chef Hans is also starting to be known for his extremely creative take on plant based dishes, watch out for his next 16-course plant based degustation.Aside from a vast array of cuisine, VIEW spoils its guests with herbsinfused signature cocktails such as the Kecombrang Sour – a gin-based drink with butterfly pea flower and lime juice, and the Echo Chic which is a concoction of lemongrassinfused vodka with Cointreau and lemon. Another crowd favorite is the Elderflower Daiquiri which is a mix or of rum, cranberry juice and elderflower syrup.
