LOCATED AT North Serpong, Kayu Kayu is a family-friendly restaurant under the same group which brought us Kosenda Hotel. Kayu Kayu’s interior highlights more on the playful use of various types of woods, sourced and refurbished locally. The theme setting is also aligned with Kosenda Hotel as the design is all about bringing a laidback nuance with its choice of warm wooden decor, black steel accents, and the big glass windows to let in the luminous natural daylight. The eatery cherishes local meals from Indonesia’s best-loved traditional cuisines, serving various menu from breakfast, lunch, and dinner. From the classics: bubur ayam, mie ayam, ketoprak, and lontong sayur,
the restaurant does not shy away in exploring the wide array of local dishes. Kayu Kayu’s mains include the legendary Mie Goreng Cakalang – a signature fried noodle from Sulawesi, the spicy Ayam Woku, a plateful of braised spicy beef rib bathed in beef broth of Iga Asam Pedas, Ikan Goreng Makassar, the classic ayam panggang with grilled corn, a bowl of minced beef and assorted vegetables of Soto Bandung, the spicy and savoury Ayam Saus Mangga, the simple Udang Telor Asin, and the familiar Nasi Uduk. Kayu Kayu also explores sweets, from avocado mousse, double chocolate cake, Oreo cheese cake, and the signature dessert of Martabak Pandan with cheese and chocolate fillings.
